The Maldives are a chain of 19 island groups in the Indian Ocean, southwest of India and Sri Lanka. They extend over 871 kilometers in a north-south direction, up to just south of the Equator. The islands are atolls with coral reefs, surrounded by the peaks of a volcanic mountain range submerged in the water. From the total 2000 islands, only about 220 are inhabited.

However, only some of the inhabited islands are accessible to tourists. These are principally islands with hotels or those visited frequently by safari boats. Principally, tourists must leave the islands before sunset.
Exceptions are granted by the government in very rare cases.

The Nautilus Two, 43 m in length, is much more than just another safari boat. Built entirely out of wood according to Maldivian time-tested methods, this ship isn’t just visually appealing. Lots of room, beautiful construction, and the most modern equipment prove that one mustn’t forego luxury on an adventure ship.
In 12 spacious, luxurious guest cabins, 24 people can be housed in accommodations that are more than comfortable. Each cabin has a king-sized double bed, a single bed, a desk a large dresser with lots of storage space and a climate control unit. In each of the private baths, there is a vanity, toilet and shower with massage jets. 230 V European-style electric outlets provide electricity around the clock. Two water treatment units provide the ship with plenty of fresh water.
Our bartender awaits you in our large 120m² parlour with cold beer on tap, cocktails, soft drinks or fresh fruit juices. An old fishing dhoni divides the room: our restaurant area is on the port side and the lounge is on the starboard side, along with the bar.
Our chef will prepare a varied menu for you, consisting of a wide range of local specialities and traditional European dishes. Fish that you catch will, of course, also be prepared for you as you wish. A well-matched wine can be found on our wine list.
Get your fill of sunshine on our huge sun deck, unwind in the Whirlpool or lay back and relax on one of our comfortable lounge chairs in the shade, while the Nautilus Two brings you to the next destination on your Maldivian adventure.

Visit each of the Tourist Resorts
Experience a barbecue on the beach one evening on an uninhabited island.
Take the opportunity to visit Maldivian people on their islands and see how they live. There are also inexpensive shopping possibilities.
Accompany the crew while night fishing and try your luck at rod fishing.
Swim in an isolated lagoon, snorkel or just walk on the beach.
When the Nautilus Two arrives in Malé at the end of your trip, you will have the opportunity to visit the city and shop.
The Maldives have a remarkably easy visa policy -- Everybody gets a free 30-day visa on arrival, provided that they have a valid travel document, a ticket out and proof of sufficient funds, defined as either a confirmed reservation in any resort or US$25/day in cash. This can be extended up to 90 days at Male, but you'll need to indicate where you're staying for that long.
Practically all visitors arrive at Malé International Airport (IATA: MLE, ICAO: VRMM), located on Hulhulé Island right next to the capital Male. The airport is served by a wide array of flights to India, Sri Lanka, Dubai and major airports in South-East Asia, as well as an increasing number of charters from Europe. Many flights stop in Colombo (Sri Lanka) on the way.
Gan Airport (IATA: GAN, ICAO: VRMG), on the southern atoll of Addu, also serves an international flight to Milan several times a week.
Departure taxes are included in your ticket.
British Airways now flies directly from London Gatwick to Male 3 times a week (Sunday, Tuesday and Friday)
Singapore Airlines flies daily direct from Singapore to Male, with late night timings.
There are no regular passenger boats to the Maldives. Even yachts usually steer clear, as navigating around the reefs is hazardous and permits are expensive.
